Original HONEYWELL OOM109 OOM109-LF2 (EnviteC) Oxygen Sensor
Product Overview
The Honeywell OOM109, manufactured by EnviteC, is a high-speed electrochemical galvanic oxygen cell. Optimized for real-time breath-by-breath monitoring, it is designed for cardiopulmonary exercise testers, anesthesia machines, ventilators and oxygen concentration analyzers, complying with the medical standard ISO 80601-2-55. Two mainstream versions are available: standard OOM109 and lead-free eco-friendly OOM109-LF2.
Operating Principle
It adopts a galvanic cell structure consisting of a noble metal cathode and a bismuth/lead anode (bismuth anode for LF2 lead-free variant) filled with electrolyte. Oxygen permeates through the gas-permeable membrane and undergoes reduction at the cathode, generating a weak voltage signal linearly proportional to oxygen partial pressure. An integrated NTC thermistor provides built-in temperature compensation, eliminating the need for additional temperature compensation circuits on the mainboard.
Core Electrical & Performance Specifications

- Outer diameter: Φ14.5 mm; overall length: 41.4 mm
- Weight: ~28 g
Model Differences
- OOM109: Standard lead anode, cost-effective, widely adopted for general medical equipment
- OOM109-LF2: LF = Lead-Free, featuring bismuth anode to meet RoHS medical regulations; ideal for EU export. Fully interchangeable with the standard model with identical performance parameters.
Typical Application Scenarios
- Cardiopulmonary exercise testing systems (standard sensor for Schiller, Lanyi and other brands)
- Anesthesia ventilators, neonatal incubator oxygen monitoring
- Metabolic gas analyzers for exercise, breath-by-breath oxygen concentration detection
- Oxygen concentration monitoring for medical oxygen concentrators
Operation & Calibration Guidelines
- Allow a 30-minute warm-up period after sensor replacement for stable signal output
- Standard calibration: two-point calibration using ambient air (21% O₂) and 100% pure oxygen
- Replace the sensor immediately if severe signal drift, excessive zero offset or calibration failure occurs, indicating depleted electrolyte
- Avoid long-term exposure of the membrane to condensed water or high-concentration anesthetic agents, which will accelerate sensor degradation
